Okay, so I'm only posting this on the (extreme) off chance that anyone reading this hasn't seen it, but here's what's going on, here's where you can post a comment expressing your outrage and/or demanding an explanation from LJ/Six Apart, and here's a community you can join to be counted: fandom_counts. I've also turned off my automatic payments.

I hate wank, and discord, and my natural reaction is to stay the hell out of this stuff. LJ is my happy place, after all- but it pisses me off more when that's threatened.

Whatever happens, fandom is bigger than this crap.
