con_txt!

So, back from con_txt this weekend, and it was so much fun! Though moonblade85 and I weren't actually staying at the hotel, because we are poor and live less than 30 minutes from Silver Spring. ;)

This meant that I was kind of in and out of the con, and didn't get to do as much hanging out and meeting people as I would have liked (sorry, raveninthewind, I suck!). But, the panels were all very interesting, and I did get to meet some lovely people, including annavtree, who was so nice and interesting, and also possibly more in denial about Serenity than I am.

We also met amandajane5, who was very adorable and SV garbed, and also one of the only other people at the con who actually liked "The Tower" (yep, nothing but glee for that ep, even now). amandajane5 also raised the possiblity of karaoke at a gay tiki bar with the TWoP people. If you know me at all, you know that the words karaoke, gay, and tiki bar all fall under the heading of BEST THINGS EVER.

All in all, it was fun (including a non-smoking smoke break with amandajane5, norabombay, aneli8 and mayatawi), and it was so interesting to see internet fandom come to weird and wonderful life. I have some theories brewing about episodic television and old school fandoms vs. modern ones, but maybe later.

(no subject)

So two updates in one day. This never happens, I know. Anyway, so I kinda sorta passed out at work today- fun and not embarassing in the least, yep. For future reference, skirts are cute, but not the greatest thing to be wearing if you anticipate being sprawled on the floor with your legs spread as though preparing for a gynocological exam.

Unfortunately, it wasn't like I had low blood sugar, and this is the second time this has happened since Thanksgiving, which means doctor's visits and physicals and the definite possibility of adult onset epilepsy from my mom's side of the family. My aunt developed it when she was my age. Wahoo. *twirls finger*

Anyway, I'm fine now and am curled up at home (instead of going out for duckfish's birthday, sadly) with my laptop and my reel_sga story, which may not be completely hopeless, though if I can pull it off it'll be...interesting.

(He. My icon is so vaguely appropriate. And JF's oh so weird facial expression in my mood icon is already cheering me up.)
