Had a lovely birthday! Well, after I got off work, at any rate. Things that I got:

*2 bottles of wine

*Money from various relatives (yay for still being young/poor enough to rate that)

*Small, cute thing of flowers from my direct boss

*Crap from various people in my office for lamenting being "old" (everyone that I work with is at least 7 years older than me).

*New York Betty Boop PJ shorts from miripanda.

*AWESOME/HORRIBLE Yaoi manga from my Other Roommate M that she got free from work. Basically it's stuff that sounds like it came from a Harlequin challenge- complete with poor characterization, treacly florid writing, and borderline disturbing relationship dynamics. Plots include futuristic slaves, Arabian Sheiks who abduct their ex boyfriends back, and, my personal favorite, a touching Merman/non-Merman love story. Why would you pay money for this when you can read it for free in SGA fandom?

*Various drinks at Sing Sing, the karaoke bar we hit up that night.

*A "Desperado" serenade from Other Roommate M at said karaoke bar.

*The opportunity to sing "Breaking Free" from HSM in public to a bar full o' folks.

*Home safely at the end of the night.

*The day off work the next morning. (Thank God. Ow.)

Also, in other news, the McShep reel_sga story circa_eve and I are avoiding writing tried to grow a plot. Or something. *pokes at it sadly*

Also, GIP! New fannish obsession, HI. (Thanks st2102 for the screencap!) The Hahn and Callie kiss last Thursday? Also a bday present. Yes.
