It's been forever since I've posted, but NYC is awesome, though somewhat exhausting. My program is pretty intense.

And, instead of the job hunting I REALLY should be doing, I took a break to read an (extremely random for me) CSI/CSI Miami crossover fic that started out okay but devolved into one of the characters sobbing on the floor into the carpet at the prospect of a long distance relationship. But sometimes you're just in the mood for long, sorta plotty, badly-written fanfiction, you know? Especially on Sundays.

Also, who's excited about Harry Potter? Meeee. Though I really want to have a talking to whoever decided it'd be a good idea to release the Hairspray movie the Friday that they're releasing the seventh book? Because every teeny bopper who would have been there opening weekend to drool over Zac Efron will be reading instead. (Not that I fall into this category, mind you. I just think he's adorable. And he winks!! Oh man.) Must contrive a way to see both.

Sometimes mediocre fanfic is like...store bought cupcakes. They aren't good for you and they dont' have good stuff in them but you crave them anyway.

Also, have you seen this new TV show Gina Torres is in? I caught it randomly on Friday (My midwestern neighbor who wandered into the TV lounge when she was onscreen: "Are you watching BET?"). She seemed badass and fabulous.

Um, I'm seeing the movie as soon as I get out of work, and then picking up the book at midnight, while my mom gets the early tickets for book pickup. Not... like I have... a ... plan... or anything... lame... like that....

I am so smart. S-M-R-T. I took Sunday off of work, not Saturday. Now I'm going to have to spend all of Saturday at the box office desperately wanting to read HP and having to work instead. Maybe I'll see if I can get off work at the theatre and just have the whole weekend off to read and squee. Regardless I would love to see the Hairspray movie friday night (maybe after I get off work at 9?)

Also, yay to day-old-doughnut fic. (10 points if you get my reference!) I read a lot of Sentinel fics that are like that. Oh, Sentinel...

Aw. Sadface. The only thing about the Hairspray movie is that I think we'd be pushing it trying to see it at 10 when you'd get home and still make it to the midnight release. (It runs almost two hours.) Hm, I dunno.
