Okay, you know you're deep in a too-much-coffee, final paper writing mental clusterfuck when you start to see a peculiar resonance between Phil Collins and the Tarzan soundtrack and the paper you're writing comparing the socio/political/sexual politics, specifically the treatment of class and sexuality, of E.M. Forster's Maurice and D.H. Lawrence's Lady Chatterley's Lover.
In my defense, there's nature vs. society! And the forces that divide people, than can be transcended via love/sex! And maybe gorillas = the British lower class or something- and Jesus, JUST KILL ME NOW.
Also, I keep getting distracted by completely irrelevant essays on Where Angels Fear to Tread (*love* that novel so much, way more than Maurice, and Lady Chatterley, which I apparently hate a great deal).

sheafrotherdon's new, amazing Farm in Iowa story. What an awesome AU that actually is an Alternate Universe, with loads of history and detail, so fully fleshed out. I love where she's heading with it. (The only weakness of the whole thing for me is that the kid has always been a little too precociously cute, in a Michelle Tanner sort of way, for me to fully buy, but then I have a weird prejudice toward boy children, and really...bygones. Go read.)
