Peter Jackson has optioned the Temeraire series. With the dragons. And the Napoleonic Wars. I'm literally tripping over myself with the squee, because Peter Jackson and the LoTR movies are why I'm fandom, you know?


Also, as far as casting Laurence goes, Jack Davenport FTW! Who's with me?

He would be perfect! I've always pictured Jack Davenport in the main role.

Also- and this will never happen- David Hewlett needs to make a cameo as Napoleon and my life would be complete.

Obviously fandom has wired my brain (as if that really needs to be stated) but when I read her physical description of Napoleon in the book, I immediately went, "It's David Hewlett! It's David Hewlett!"

Also, YES!! That would be an unbelievably cracked out AU. Rodney as a French dictator is brilliant in and of itself, but even more awesome/terror-inducing is the image of Joe Flanigan in a ridiculously ornamented dress. With a crown. Oh god.
