First:
So wait, I don't watch this show at all, and I only saw the opener, but did Vala give birth to the Orii Jesus? (What? Seriously, what?)
Random jumble of thoughts:
*Liked this opener so much better than Siege 3, woo! Really loved it, and it is totally worthy of my icon, which I have been holding in reserve for ages until Gero had a chance to do good.
*Hey, is it next Friday yet?
*Weir finally pulled up her skirt and kicked a little ass. Thank god. I'm also glad that she admitted that she fucked up, because hi, most of the last half of Season 2 was just a clusterfuck of epic proportions.
*Teyla running Atlantis! Her and Elizabeth actually having a converstation! *love love love* Teyla should run Atlantis forever. Some days she's the only one of them that I feel has her head on straight.
*Weir called Caldwell by his first name. They're so doing it.
*Rodney and Ronon? The entire ep could have been them bitching at each other on the Hive ship and I would have been a happy girl.
*Sheppard as Han Solo!! He saw it in a movie! *dies*
*The very idea of Sheppard and Rodney and Zelenka eating together with John flirting with girls over the technobabble and with Rodney calling him on it is one that makes me happy down to my toes. *points to icon*
*Lorne and Zelenka on the Orion was awesome. I heart them both so much. Lorne in the captains chair, aww.
*Hi Robert Picardo! I haven't watched you on SG-1 ever, but I still have a deep abiding love for you from my Voyager days and can't wait for more!
*Using the gas on the Wraith? Woah. Okay, maybe I was riding a happy oblivious high of gate cookies and beer, but I didn't see that coming. (And here I'd gone almost a whole episode without the lovely, familiar cringing-for-Team-SGA feeling.) The idea of the gas really disturbs me in general, and the Hive ship full of amnesiac human Wraith was pretty creepy. Also, I totally freaked when the Queen went for Lorne. And when it looked like the Orion might have been destroyed with all the awesome secondary characters on it.
*Main thing I took away from this episode: OMG MICHAEL. I just re-watched "Michael" and "Allies" today, and dude, if he wasn't one of my favorite guest stars of all time then, he sure as hell is now. I love the position he's in, it's so very intriguing. (Visually, I like how this is conveyed by the whole Wraith with a brushcut thing.) Anyway, he's really just awesome and adorable even when he's all Wraithy, and I'd love to see where they go with him. But actually, that's what I'm most afraid of, because it's hard for me to see a away for them to keep him around, and while they've done a really good job so far with the character, I don't know how much I trust the writers not to screw him up or have him go the way of Sora and Bates and just never be heard from again.
*Nevertheless, overall: GLEE. I missed this show so much.
*Going to re-watch, and will post gate cookie pics later.
