Overall, it was pretty good. I think they've done the whole "let's make deal that Cadwell thinks is a bad idea and OH WAIT, he right. Sometimes it be like...damn." thing a lot better before. Though this is definitely the biggest fuck up they've done so far. (Go Team SGA. Way to save the galaxy. I love you guys.) I'm very interested to see how this plays out in Season 3. Other notes:
*The Rodney/John arm pat thing. Seriously, I'm trying to see that moment w/out the slash goggles and it's NOT WORKING. What was John's reaction supposed to mean? Omg, Rodneycooties? I know John has personal space issues, but really.
I think this is just one of those strange moments that SGA sometimes has, that come off in ways they don't mean to. Like the John smile from Trinity that is so uncharactersticallly unguarded and dopey, or that Rodney reaction shot after the John/Teyla moment in "The Long Goodbye," or even the oddly tense exchange between them earlier in that episode after Elizabeth talks about Phoebus reuniting with her husband:
Elizabeth: The rush of emotion is...overwhelming.
John: I can imagine.
Rondey: (Weird look at John) No, no you can't.
John: (Weird look at Rodney, then away) No, I can't.
Maybe it's another slash google moment, but what was going on there? Is Rodney really saying that he knows that John's never been in love? Not even close enough to be able to imagine what Phoebus' "situation" must feel like? I think it was it supposed to be funny, like, "Well actually, unless I missed the part where you got married and barely escaped death and then were in stasis for thousands of years and then got reunited with your spouse, um, no you can't." But it never came off that way to me. *shrug*
*Beckett/Zelenka. These two have been my sekrit Stargate OTP for a while (I even made a horrible icon), so that scene with the lab coats and the nervous laughing? The flashing? Oh so cute. I couldn't take it. Sometimes I can take or leave Beckett, but he and Zelenka together are too friggin' adorable.
*Okay, did I hear this wrong or did Weir refer to Chuck the gateroom guy as Sargeant? Was she talking to someone else? Or does this mean that Chuck the gateroom guy is a Mountie. Just wondering. 'Cause that'd be cool. *mountiesqueee*
So it was good. I'm sad that this season is over. Season 2 has been a interesting ride, to say the least.
