Aug. 19th, 2005 10:20 pmOMG SQUEEEEEE! Slashiest episode ever! Totally my favorite this season. OMG. The looks! The angst! The final scene! *swoons*
I swear I'll come back with something more coherent later. To full of the squee at the moment. (SQUEE!)
Also, Lini, Meg and I made Gate shaped sugar cookies for this event. They were iced gray with gate symbols. They were, quite possibly, the dorkiest pastries ever. (And the most fabulous) *is a big nerd*

Can I have some cookies?

Date: 2005-08-20 08:48 am (UTC)I think my mouth was open for that entire scene. It killed me, but in such a good way.
I am so hoping for some quality fic.
*chucks Gate Cookie at you*

Date: 2005-08-20 02:53 am (UTC)This is the first time I actually wanted the show NOT looking for subtext. I maybe the happiest geek alive right now. Well, other than the one that actually got to see a girl naked from using lines from Monty Python.
Though, seriously, did they break up? I might cry later when I'm not insane over the physics.

Date: 2005-08-20 08:45 am (UTC)Personally, I'm thinking of it more as "developing their relationship". I think they're going to be fine, though. I have two reasons:
First off, I think John does indicate that he's willing to forgive Rodney, just not until he has time to get over it, and not if Rodney's not going to work for it. At least that was how I read the last scene.
Secondly, the SGA writers are dependably crap on emotional follow-through, it's entirely possible the fallout from this episode will be ignored/glossed over entirely. :) (Kidding. I hope.)
For now, though, I'm just thinking of this episode as SGA's "Mountie on the Bounty". It really did a lot to flesh out their relationship in canon. And even though it was McShep of the dramatic, pillow-clenching kind, I loved it.
