For the people on my flist who watch both Ugly Betty and SG-1/SGA (and there is maybe a Venn Diagram overlapping of what, 3 people?):

Cliff. From Ugly Betty. AKA David Blue AKA Marc's boyfriend who I *loved* and was heartbroken by when their relationship ended?

IS GOING TO BE IN STARGATE UNIVERSE. As the slacker genius character person. (Whatever, the casting call list burned my retinas and I've repressed who everyone is already.)

I really loved Cliff on UB (plus he's made out with a boy on TV so he already has slasher cred) so I guess this + Robert Carlyle + John Scalzi = Maybe not as bad as we thought?

Yeeeah, I'm still wary. But before the back half of SGA Season 5 I was perversely excited by SGFU, so it's looking more and more like I might have to download this and at least check out the first episode. Sigh. I almost feel like it's been so long now that I've foolishly forgotten how bad my SGA rage was and I'm ready to sign on for more!

You know how women are wired to forget just how painful labor is are or they'd NEVER HAVE MORE THAN ONE KID? Something like that.

um, anyway. i loved mark (is it marc? or mark?) and cliff, too! it gave mark a little more depth. i really hope they work it out. although, they probably won't. and not just because cliff's going into outer space.

also, was there or was there not an episode of ugly betty this past thursday? i can't find a torrent to save my life and it was meant to be on...

Aw, sad Grey's. Yeah that icon looks happy, but if you know the characters it's actually depressing. It's tricky.

I think that was one of the first storylines where they did try and make Marc (pretty sure it's with a C?) less of a caricature. And yeah, I didn't really think they were gonna get back together after what happened, but it's still sad to know it's never gonna happen ever.

I agree with you. Oh Stargate. I do feel rather like Sally Bowles belting out the last tragic chorus of "Maybe This Time," but it seems more and more like resistance is futile. At least in terms of giving it a chance.

(There's still a spiteful part of me that wants it to fall on its ass. What if Joe Mallozzi threw a Sci-Fi fandom and nobody came? :)

I would laugh in his FACE! My bitter, spiteful side really wants this to FAIL spectacularly and make JoeM&co cry themselves to sleep. Then again, I still want more Stargate, even if I'll have to watch SG:90210 to satisfy my needs.

Yeah, that is a comforting thought. Hopefully I won't like it enough to buy the dvds (but considering I still need to buy 10 season of SG-1 + SGA s5, SGU purchases would be far far off in the future).

Yeah, I'm not a big episode re-watcher, so most of the time when I buy DVDs it's just to support a show or to make it easier to pimp other people into it. (Reason numero uno why despite owning 4 seasons of Atlantis they certainly won't be getting my money for Season 5.)

Some shows I can rewatch again and again but some I feel no need to see again. I, however, have an OCD problem regarding dvds, because if I love a show/have at least one season of it on dvd, I need to own EVERYTHING. So even if I'm not wild about buying s5 of SGA, I'll just have to suck it up and give them my money. Otherwise I'd notice it's absent every time I looked at my dvd collection.

At this point I know I'll watch the pilot, if only out of curiosity. As for the rest, we'll see. To be honest I don't think I'm willing to give SGFU a shot unless a nice fandom develops around it. So unless it turns out to be BRILLIANT it'll all depend on if there's anyone to play with. :)
