Still Yet Another Merlin Rec
Nov. 7th, 2008 06:36 amHi, new Merlin friends! *waves* Welcome, have a rec, pointed the way by [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com].
Guys. GUYS.
moonythestrals has written what is, to my knowledge, the first CRACK AU in Merlin fandom. This is so exciting. It's like when
rageprufrock's Hindsight came out in SGA, and it was the first major AU, like an oasis of crack in a desert of normal stories- and then three years later Girl Scout Cookie/Rainbow/Unicorn crack AUs were the norm. I have high hopes for Merlin as well.

As an English+Business double major/gay ex-sorority girl, I spent most of this story being YES. EXACTLY. (BECAUSE COLLEGE IS REALLY LIKE THIS, K?)
Also, I was on a bus last night and haven't seen Grey's yet. I'm sure I will have something to say about it later.

Date: 2008-11-07 09:37 pm (UTC)That was most certainly the first crack AU and probably first AU as well.
And you also watch Grey's, very cool. I miss the first season *sad face* but it is very cracky and cliched at times now which is cool but also very strange as its supposed to be a realistic drama show . And typing Grey's and realistic together just made me laugh.

Date: 2008-11-08 12:12 am (UTC)Hopefully there will be lots more! Personally I want someone to write the modern AU with Arthur as a some sort of Prince Harry type and Merlin as...something I haven't figured out yet. (Please not a Merlin/Arthur British version of First Daughter, please brain, just no, stop it....)
Yeah, Grey's...I just don't know. Season 1 was awesome, but it just seemed to get more and more ridiculous, and now that Dr. Hahn is gone I'm not watching anymore. (I feel like she was, bizarrely, the only character actually in a realistic drama on Grey's, while everyone else was too busy angstily gazing at their navels and angstily sleeping with each other.)
