merelynOkay, so the spindle on my CD-RW drive is broken, and I have a replacement part for it, but I've been putting off taking it to IT for them to install it forever. (Like, over a month now. I don't even remember, it's been that long.)
Partially because I'm lazy, and it's not like I use my CD drive that often anyway.
Partially because my laptop is full of illegally downloaded music/movies/TV shows, and there are plenty of rumors of IT wiping out your shared files, even though it's a hardware thing, and why would it matter in this case anyway.
Partially because my poor laptop is a broken down, dented, limping piece of crap (whom I *love*, but still), and I'm a deeply irrationally afraid of her getting picked on by the other, shinier laptops in the IT department, you know, the ones whose N keys actually stick to their keyboards.
Most of all though, I hate being without my laptop, and there's always something that needs to be done (important stuff, I swear), and why should I give her up for a few days just to fix a spindle thingy that doesn't truly bother me that much?
So I said I'd do it today, 'cause I finally have the time...
...but I haven't watched Torchwood 1x03 yet.
Dammit. Maybe later.
