You can check out all the information in the user info yourself, but the story is that Erin suffers from Chiari malformation and cranial lesions, two neurological disorders that are extraordinarily painful and difficult to deal with. She is unemployed, uninsured, and needs to raise money for the necessary brain surgies that will save her life.
Megaupload.com has a reward program, whereby if a file is downloaded 5 million times (one hit per IP address per day) they will pay the user $10,000. Erin has started this program, and she's not asking for your money, she's only asking you to spend two seconds a day and a tiny amount of bandwidth. Check it out, and after, if you think it's an internet scam, that's certainly your perogative. Personally, I believe her.
Erin has gotten a lot of support, but she's only at 143,508 downloads. That's a long way from 5 million.
And on top of that, she's just taken a turn for the worse. Erin's had a pretty bad seizure, is in the hospital and has lost a lot of her memory- about the last year and a half of time. Things may be reaching a critical point for her.
I'm hoping you all will check out the community and start clicking too. And tell your friends. Every little bit helps. Thanks.
