Well I've returned from Thanksgiving Break to a room that was (actually, still is) freezing cold, as the ancient windows we have were open just a crack for five days. The heat has been on now for about three hours. Still cold. Suckage. It figures that *now* the room starts to obey the Laws of Thermodynamics, when before you could leave the window gaping open and it wouldn't make a bit of difference on the temperature. Bah.
It was really nice going back for Thanksgiving and seeing everyone. The whole thing was kind of like a flashback, though. It was the same as before, essentially. Same family, same people, same job, same crappy music at job... but it wasn't real. Because the entire time I was there I knew in the back of my head that in a few days I'd be going back to college, where I don't have a TV, I don't have a car, and I don't have friends that are nearly as close. It was more like a pleasant dream than anything else. And it would be really easy to just stay forever. It's not like I don't like it here, or anything, it's just not the same.
Even so, it is nice to be back. I missed it here, too.
