I've seen more than one episode. I've read some fanfiction. But the fact is that sci fi...lacks characterization sometimes....

The highest echelons of SciFi, like Battlestar Galactica or Farscape, are actually pretty damn good about characterization. That said, I love SGA but it will never qualify as that. Anyway, forgive my "nobody hits my little brother but me" response. :)

The highest echelon of SciFi is Firefly in my mind, and it has WONDERFUL characterization that those shows can't even touch.
