SGA: Everybody's Doing It
So, HP was my first real internet fandom, the one that sucked my life away for over 2 years, long before I really branched out in my multi-fandom whorishness. And I drifted along from pairing to pairing, as you do in big fandoms like HP, going from first Harry/Draco (for like 5 minutes before I hated it), Harry/Ron, then Ron/Draco. And I picked up Percy/Oliver, and then in the adult era I first liked Snape/Lupin, because I decided that I didn't like Remus/Sirius fic, probably because every else liked them and I have moments of contrariness in that way (again, see Harry/Draco).
Finally though, one day, I came across Snape/Black fic. (Or rather I was bored and decided to like Snape/Black.) The first fic I read in the pairing were by
fabularasa. I was sucked in, just like that. And then she kept on writing! And they were all fabulous and plotty and gripping and I devoured them like the wonderful fic-crack they were. And then I tried to get all my friends to read them- I bet y'all remember that- and even though nobody was sold, I still loved her stories, and when I finally drifted away from HP (mostly thanks to Book 5-still bitter and dreading Book 6, thx),
fabularasa was my favorite author from HP. And then I guess she disappeared from fandom for awhile.
But dude, now she is back and she's fallen under the spell of SGA! I feel vaguely like a stalker squeeing about this in my lj, but come on! It's like all of my favorite authors from every random fandom I've ever dipped my toe in eventually write SGA. Woah.
It's like SGA has this enormous awesome-fandomy mass which means it has this ridiculous gravitational pull, so it can suck in all sorts of folk irrespective of how far away they are, fandomly speaking. (See, it even makes me dredge up the formula for gravitation force out of my brain, all the way back from my high school physics classes!)
In conclusion: go SGA. *huggles fandom*

(And I've always loved her Snape/Black stories, so no need for conversion here.)

My flirtation with Harry/Draco was brief, too.
Snape/Lupin is good, but it lacks that snarktastic edge that Snape/Black has naturally.

Oh, naturally. Wow, I had no idea you read Snape/Black! As of right now, you are so much cooler than any of my RL fandom friends. *g*
Yeah, apparently

You know, I actually started reading more Remus/Sirius fic after Book 5. Mostly because I was so violently opposed to the pairing, so I get a kind of sick satisfaction in seeing it all doomed and fucked to hell. Ha.
