I haven't updated in forever (uh, hey!) but I have been awash in a sea of fangirls lately! (That sounds dirtier than it actually is, unfortunately.) Recent fangirl sightings below:

+ Last week I went with [personal profile] leupagus to meet [personal profile] ink_n_imp for a really cool speakeasy event at the Museum of the City of New York. And [personal profile] puckling came too! There was swing dancing, and very blue cocktails and it was one of those things that makes you glad to be living in New York City in the summer. (As opposed to sweaty and frizzy and irritated.)

+ At the last minute I decided to go up to Boston for [personal profile] ocelotspots's birthday shenanigans. Everyone was awesome about me randomly crashing the party, and I got to hang out with [personal profile] puckling and [personal profile] solarcat and [profile] likeaglass and [personal profile] ugasaiki and [personal profile] zeenell and [profile] heyjuuude too. And booze. Booze was there. Also, I got to watch a Kevin-centric episode of JONAS with [personal profile] solarcat, which was sweet because for some reason everyone else I know thinks the Jonas Brothers are lame or something. I have no idea where they get this.

(Oh yeah, did I mention I now <3 the JoBros? Anyone who knows me and my preteen taste in movies and music is probably not surprised that this happened eventually. I am the kind of person who went to a preview screening of Charlie St. Cloud and cried three times and who also thinks Zac Efron can actually act. And furthermore is convinced in my heart of hearts that this blind item is him and that he's secretly dating Lucas Grabeel from HSM. PLEASE LET IT BE TRUE, UNIVERSE.

Also! I'm totally into Bandom now too. Mull it. MULL IT. Or check my delicious for fic I'm reading, some Mike Carden/Kevin Jonas fic, some Panic! Brendon/Spencer stuff, and also some Inception and Sherlock.

The lesson learned in this parenthetical aside: shame is for the weak. Or for people who write 1776 fic.)

+ [profile] moonklutz IS COMING TO VISIT. LIKE TODAY. SHE PROMISED TO BRING ME ALL THE THINGS FROM CANADA. I AM MAKING HER A PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE PIE I INVENTED AM SO EXCITED. ALSO, I NEED TO START PERFECTING MY STRAWBERRY RHUBARB SHORTCAKE PIE FOR THE BROOKLYN PIE BAKE OFF IN NOVEMBER. WHY DO I WORK A LAME ASS JOB THAT DOESN'T INVOLVE MAKING PIE ALWAYS? GOOD QUESTION.

+ Also this weekend, [personal profile] leupagus and [personal profile] twentysomething are moving in finally (!!!) so I can start being their obnoxious third roommate ASAP. Seriously, their couch will have a groove for my ass. That's one of my goals for 2010. Ass-grooving their couch.

+ I need to get my coverage approved today- it's been a super annoying process thus far- but as soon as that goes through I am booking a plane ticket I can barely afford to go visit [personal profile] rageprufrock and [personal profile] zoetrope in London next month!

In conclusion: fangirls! \o/

So the last time I posted was, um, almost a month ago? Uh. Hey. ::sheepish wave::

*Right after that, my trusty netbook died. My mom got me a new one for Christmas (this one, if anyone's interested) which was cool of her since I couldn't really afford it on my own at the moment. That said, it was something like three weeks with no home access to the internet except for my iPhone, just in time for the penultimate Merlin episode. But I survived! It's possible! I read books and shit! Though I know I missed a crapton of flist goings on, so sorry. (Point me toward the notable/good stuff?)

*I have finally seen Merlin, and Sherlock Holmes, I've read some Yuletide, and I even caught the Doctor Who finale yesterday while clutching [personal profile] mklutz's virtual hand. It seems a little silly at this point to comment on anything, as everyone else has already said pretty much everything ages ago. Okay, but seriously, Doctor Who. Hmm, not so much with squee. )

*Also [personal profile] rageprufrock and [personal profile] thehoyden made me watch (okay, I went willingly) Die Hard 4 over New Years. This resulted in me spending most of this weekend indoors (it was freezing, okay?) reading John/Matt fic. This is what happens when everything is on hiatus.

*Lots of people seem to have done 2009 Year in Review stuff, which is cool. I have whipped up my own version:

Fandom lines I used to have but misplaced somewhere in 2009, the shame shame shame edition. )

Lesson learned: lines are silly, and meant to be crossed. I am on track for 2010 to have no lines/standards whatsoever. By this time next year I fully expect to be doing nothing but injecting MPREG and sweeping Civil War AUs (and sweeping MPREG Civil War AUs) between my toes like someone from Trainspotting.

*So. How are you guys?

Some day I will make a post that has something to do with something that aren't Home Depot 'verse. Tonight is not that night.

[personal profile] circa_eve came away from the fics feeling really really bad for Chris. And let's be honest, the entire Home Depot 'verse was basically an exercise in making Chris suffer in increasingly horrible ways with seemingly little promise of even getting into ZQ's yoga pants at the end. So...

[personal profile] circa_eve: MAYBE someone needs to write a little something extra from ZQs perspective. Some people might be interested in reading it. That's all I'm saying.
[personal profile] merelyn: YOU write it. Join the circle of shame. And you have to post it yourself because you have no one to blame but you.
[personal profile] circa_eve: NO.

(No Less Than Six Hours Later)

[personal profile] circa_eve: There! Done. Happy!?

So without futher ado, I bring you:

Home Depot: ZQ to the Future by [personal profile] circa_eve (Zach/Kate Pine/Evil and what we've run of out of movie sequel titles to riff on by this point geez WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME.)

On another note, [profile] reel_merlin is coming up soon! Get excited!
merelyn: (st trinian's)
Just FYI the Home Depot cycle of SHAME is now complete:

Home Depot III by [personal profile] twentysomething (Chris/Zach/Outdoor Fireplace, PG) over on Pru's DW.

Now maybe we can make [personal profile] circa_eve write something from ZQ's POV.
merelyn: (st trinian's)
So I think this is actually going to have its own tag now that there are three stories.

First [personal profile] rageprufrock wrote Home Depot and [personal profile] leupagus posted it.

Then [personal profile] leupagus wrote Home Depot: The Outtakes and I posted it.

Then (wait for it, you can probably see where this is going) I wrote Home Depot 2: Electric Boogaloo and [personal profile] twentysomething posted it.

So yes. This is the first thing I've written in years, and it's an RPS Pinto-y fic sequel about a Home Depot where Chris is totally a lesbian and Zach has a thing for water landscaping. My life took a tragic turn somewhere.

So go read and then go over to [personal profile] twentysomething's and bother her about the next part of this debacle that is inevitably hers.

Title: Homoe Depot: The Outtakes

Author: [personal profile] leupagus

Pairing: Chris Pine/paint cans, OFC-that's-suspiciously-like-[personal profile] rageprufrock/WHORETEARS

Summary: It's an outtake from THIS PIECE OF BUSINESS. Like the stuff that was too shameful for the first story. Think about that.

Warnings: This was written by [personal profile] leupagus, I take no actual responsibility.

Notes: All you need to know is that Chris Pine a lesbian and is building Zach a gazebo.

Other notes: Following the grand tradition of denial and pointing fingers, [personal profile] leupagus wants me to post this rather than her, because it's a rule now. Plus I kind of asked for this.
